Answer to Question #255843 in General Chemistry for Confused

Question #255843

Hi. I was wondering if carbon-12 has a mass of 12amu (& there are 6 protons and 6 neutrons weighing 1 amu each) then how does it make sense that there are 6.02 x10^23 particles (1 mole)

isn’t there only 1 atom of carbon since that is the weight?

Thanks
