1) Take a case of decomposition of sodium hydrogen carbonate as shown below. A single substance will produce one or more substances. For instance, decomposition of sodium hydrogen carbonate produces sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide, and water. Same case applies to break ups of friendship. After the break-up, everybody goes on his own way.
2) For a single replacement reaction, elements in a compound are inter-changed leading to formation of a new compound and a new element. The analogy of this is when one lover cheats the other that she is the only love of his life which on the contrary may not be the case. In this case only one is cheating but the other one is faithful.
3) Double replacement occurs during the exchange of two ions and two compounds are formed. The analogy of this is when two partners cheats at the same time forming two distinct families.
4) Combustion of a substance requires the presence of oxygen gas. The analogy of this case can be compared to a prostitute because she wants every one who comes on her way provided she makes a living in the process.
