The transfer of electrons and charges between be3n2
In a nitride, nitrogen has a charge of -3. Beryllium, as an alkaline earth metal, has a charge of +2. For the charges to balance out, you need 3 Be ions (for a total charge of 3×+2 = +6) and 2 N ions (for a total of 2×-3=-6), giving Be3N2.
