In a laboratory experiment,the reaction of 3.0 mol of H2( hydrogen molecule) with 2.0 mol of I2(iodine molecule) produces 1.0 mol of HI.
Determine the theoretical yield in grams and the percent yield for this reaction
H2 + I2 ----------> 2HI
2 Mole of H2 React With 2 Mole of I2 And Gives 4 Mole of HI .
So , I2 is limiting Reagent and Completly Cosume ....................
So , 4 Mole of HI formed By 2 Mole of I2 .
Theoritical Mole of HI = 4 Mole . ANSWER .
Experimental Mole of HI = 1 Mole.
% yield = Experimental Mole * 100 / Theoritical Mole = 1 * 100 / 4 = 25% ANSWER.
