The atmosphere of earth consists of a layer of gases, commonly known as air, retained by heart's gravity, surrounding the planet earth and forming its planetary atmosphere. By volume, dry air in the atmosphere contains three(3) main gases and other small volumes of gases. The main atmospheric gases by volume are;

Nitrogen"78.09%" percent

Oxygen "20. 95%" percent

Argon"0.93%" percent

Carbon four oxide and helium are other small particulate gases in the atmosphere amongst others.

Oxygen and hydrogen in the atmosphere are produced by the photochemical dissociation of water vapor. Oxygen is also produced by photosynthesis of plants.

Atmospheric nitrogen originates from the chunks of primordial rubble which formed the earth after being smashed together and coalesced.

Helium is produced by the radioactive breakdown of uranium and thorium.

These gases have greatly contributed to atmospheric particles.
