Public health is the science of preserving and improving the health of people. Public health is associated with researching the disease, promoting healthy lifestyles, and disease prevention. COVID-19 has significantly impacted and changed the altitude to public health, as well as role and activities provided by the public health authorities. In particular, increased distances between people, protecting masks and gloves, and other preventing strategies became an everyday routine practice. Understanding the distribution of infectious diseases had significantly changed while the role of medical workers has been raised significantly. On the other hand, as COVID-19 became a major health concern, the accessibility of people with some acute and chronic diseases to medical services has decreased. However, the role and attention to chronic disease (i.e., diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, etc) has significantly increased due to direct association between these diseases and COVID-19-induced comorbidities.
