Making an inference is associated with the reading through the text between lines and results in the making judgments and conclusion from the new ideas, as well as prior knowledge. Summarising is related to the picking up of the main ideas of the text. Predicting is a guess of what can be found further in the text. Prediction is used before the reading while summarizing and inference are used during the reading and after reading the text.
