Vascular tissues are complex conducting tissues of the plant. The main function of the tissues is transporting water, minerals, and organic compounds to different parts of the plants. The tissue is composed of two conducting systems - xylem and phloem. Xyleme transports water and dissolved minerals from roots to different parts of the plants while phloem transports organic compounds, mainly sugars, produced during the photosynthesis between various parts of the plants.
