Hoogsteen base pairing is an alternative method of base pairing in complementary chains of nucleic acids DNA or RNA. Nucleic acids are connecting by hydrogen bonds in the major groove. Hoogsteen's pair doesn’t applies the Watson-Crick base pair. It uses the C6 amino group as a donor and the N7 position of the purine base as an acceptor.

There is C6 amino group and N7 position in Adenine only. So does it involve only A and T and A and C?
