The automatic opening device of a military cargo parachute has been designed to open

when the parachute is 202 m above the ground. Suppose opening altitude actually has a normal

distribution with mean value 202 m and standard deviation 31 m. Equipment damage will occur

if the parachute opens at an altitude of less than 102 m. What is the probability that there is

equipment damage to the payload of at least one of five independently dropped parachutes?

Suppose the force acting on a column that helps to support a building is normally

distributed with mean 16.0 kips and standard deviation 1.35 kips. What is the probability that the

force

a. Is at most 17 kips?

b. Is between 11 and 13 kips?

c. Differs from 16.0 kips by at most 1.6 standard deviations?

How far does the electron of a hydrogen atom have to be moved from the nucleus for the force of attraction in the electron to equal the weight at the earth surface. Mass of earth, proton and nucleus are given. Also given are charge of an electron, proton. Mass of neutron is given as 0

Hello.

I am trying to calculate the ground reaction forces of a horse walking as I have got the reaction force of them standing in one spot. The weight of the horse is 500kg and distributed 52% of weight on the front legs. The answer for both front legs was 2548N and one leg being half of this. I am wondering how to get the forces of the horse was walking on a hard surface such as concrete

thanks

A company hire network administrators in the following cases:

• If the candidate is Cisco certified.

• If the candidate’s highest degree is networks, age is below 30.

• If the candidate has 3 years of experience

In all other cases the candidate is not hired. If the cisco certificate status, highest degree and experience are the inputs, write a program to determine whether the candidate will get hired or not.

Five hundred (500) milliliters of aqueous solution contains thirty (30) milligrams of zinc nitrate (Zn(N03)2 . The density of the aqueous solution is 1 gram per milliliter (1 g/ml). The atomic masses : Zn = 65.39 , N = 14.00674 , O = 15.994 , Compute for the concentration of zinc nitrate in the aqueous solution in terms of mass fraction (mi), parts per million (ppm), parts per billion (ppb), parts per trillion (ppt), milligrams per liter (m/l) and Molarity (M).

The plunger and the needle of a hypodermic syringe have areas of 0.5 cm2 and 0.0006 cm2 , respectively. To inject a vaccine, a nurse pushes the plunger with a force of 5.5 N. What pressure is transmitted to the vaccine?

A firm has the following revenue and cost functions.

TR = 120 Q – Q2

TC = 1/2 Q2 +30 Q + 10

Determine the quantity level at which the firm maximizes its total profit. (Hint: use marginal revenue = marginal cost rule)
