  1. Informed consent: before starting to collect data ensure that everyone has read the guidelines and signed a consent form allowing their information to be used for the study.
  2. Confidentiality: most women farmers are from reserved rural areas hence they value confidentiality. Therefore, ensure that their information are not exposed to unnecessary third parties by securing the data.
  3. Cultural norms/gender roles/taboos: in some communities women are not associated with some activities like farming. Even if they farm as most does in African cultures, the men are are ones being recognized. Therefore, before starting to collect the data, inquire about the cultural standards to eliminate any doubt that might affects results
  4. Voluntary participation: Most women may not be willing to particiapate due to fear of confidentiality or other factors. It is the duty of the researcher to ensure they are not coerced into providing information but act willingly.
  5. Anonymity: Most societies are very reserved and do not like the limelight or exposure to media. It is the duty of the researcher to ensure that no names are exposed to maintain the anonymous conditions
