Conclude if the SI is a useful lens through which to view and address social problems such as that of unemployment, and in a context such as the COVID-19 pandemic..
Structural inequities which refers to the systematic disadvantage of one social group compared to other groups with whom they coexist that are deeply embedded in the fabric of society can be used as a useful lens through which to view and address social problems such as unemployment in the civid-19 era. The conclusion is based on the following reasons;
Through racism many people have remained unemployed in this context of covid-19 pandemic. This is because whenever there is an employment vacancy, the people in power will give people of their own race the first priority and through this we can clearly conclude that structural inequities is a useful lens to view and address unemployment.
Structural inequity such as class indifference as also brought about the social problem of unemployment during the corona pandemic because many people from the third class of economy are the once who have lost their jobs and this has brought about increased levels of poverty.
Gender is also another structural inequity that has greatly contributed to unemployment in the covid-19 contest where by the female gender has been discriminated in terms of job allocation by been denied the chance or been given few chances as compared to the male gender.
