According to the duty of care, an individual is expected to act reasonably. This concept refers to a standard in negligence law; thus, an individual that applies this concept act in the best interest of others. Examples of this concept apply in real-life situations. For instance, a doctor owes a patient the duty of care to ensure that they receive the proper intervention. An employer may also undertake practical measures to ensure the safety of employees in the workplace. Another example is treating the aged with respect and dignity. Also, the duty should extend to the disabled staff that may be involved in an accident. Also, it is the legal duty of employers to reduce the exposure of their employees to stress.
