Identify THREE principles of symbolic interactionism and discuss how you, as a teacher, would apply these principles in the classroom.
The three principles of symbolic interactionism are meaning, language, and thinking. Meaning is described as the center for human behavior, language gives meaning by providing means to symbols, and thinking changes the interpretation of individuals as it pertains to symbols. Students acts on things and each other based on the basic meaning they have For symbol interpretation. The interpretation shapes the communication and how they behave. The teacher can learn the behavior of the students by the way they communicate and act. The teacher can use the principles to understand different behavior of students, correct the students by giving different perspective of how students interpret symbol, and model the students through change of how they think.
