a)     Suppose you are a manger of a bureaucratic organization so what are the six characteristics which you must consider to run your organization properly? Elaborate them briefly.

There are several characteristics common among successful leaders and managers which you should consider when developing your leadership skills. Ineffective leadership can cost companies more than just morale. As a manager of a bureaucratic organization, in order to retain employees, satisfy customers, and improve company productivity, you need people who can effectively communicate the company’s vision, guide teams, and influence change. A good manager has several characteristics; firstly, the manager should have ability to influence others by building trust with your colleagues. Focus on understanding their motivations and encourage them to share their opinions. You can then use that knowledge to make change and show that their voice matters. Secondly, the manager should be transparent to a certain extent intended to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and accountability. Thirdly, the manager should encourage risk-taking and innovation since by creating a culture that embraces failure, employees are more emboldened to test theories or propose new ideas, because they see that creativity is valued.

Fourthly, the manager should possess value ethics and integrity. A leader with high ethical standards conveys a commitment to fairness, instilling confidence that both they and their employees will honor the rules of the game. Fifthly, the manager should act decisively. Effective leaders need to make strategic decisions quickly even before any definitive information is available. Lastly, the manager should have capacity to balance hard truths with optimism since effective leaders don’t avoid the hard truths. Instead, they take responsibility for their decisions, maintain optimism, and focus on charting a new course of action. They also help others cope with organizational change and address issues quickly, so that problems don’t fester and escalate.

 b) Define the deviance and the social control. Also discuss the types of social control in detail.

Deviance refers to actions or behaviors that violate social norms, including formally-enacted rules like crime, as well as informal violations of social norms. Social control refers to societal and political mechanisms that regulate individual and group behavior in an attempt to gain conformity and compliance to the rules of a given society, state, or social group. Sociologists identify two basic forms of social control informal control and formal control. Informal social control, or the reactions of individuals and groups that bring about conformity to norms and laws, includes peer and community pressure, bystander intervention in a crime, and collective responses such as citizen patrol groups. Formal social control is the means of social control exercised by the government and other organizations that use law enforcement mechanisms and sanctions such as fines and imprisonment to enact social control.
