Due to rifiness of stigmatisingof victims , many people prefer the terms....to the term victim
A violent experience is traumatic and has severe effects on the physical, emotional, sexual health, and well-being of those involved. The phrase victims are always used to refer to individuals who encounter violent incidents. However, there is a belief that the term victim limits personal identity and self-esteem. Consequently, individuals are not defined by the experience of violence but rather a piece of the larger selfhood. Therefore, titles that focus on individual violence experience presuppose a personal incapacity to go through emotional development to transform their identity into a peaceful and empowered personality.
