Ghana was colonized by the British. Some of the causes of colonization in Ghana include need for fame and supremacy, need to control the sea route, need to expand industrialization, need to settle part of their population due to overpopulation in their mother countries. the British also came to Ghana to expand trade and gain political power. Colonization led to change of social structure in various ways. Religion was introduced by missionaries which led to change in beliefs of Ghana people. Colonization led to civilization of Ghanaian through the introduction of the British culture. The British introduced a new way of communication in English to Ghana. Moreover, colonization led to change in education system since the British introduced new education structure replacing the traditional structures.
