Which criterion of abnormality would regard both extreme happiness and extreme sadness as evidence of psychopathology
A divergence from good mental health is defined as abnormality. Rather than defining what is abnormal, psychologists describe what is normal/ideal mental health, and anything that differs from this is considered abnormal. Psychologists utilize four main criteria to determine whether or not a behavior is abnormal: Social norm violations, statistical rarity, personal suffering, and maladaptive conduct are all examples of social norm violations.
