Sleeping sufficiently without any disruption is very important for our overall health and wellbeing. When a person sleeps, his or her body works to attain a healthy brain role and maintain physical health. For youngsters, sleep is the way their bodies, as well as minds, develop.

Once an individual lacks getting enough sleep, the person finds it difficult to focus and recall things and he or she may be grumpy. Getting inadequate sleep impairs our judgment and affects our physical condition. For instance, lacking enough sleep affects how we feel, work, think, learn and socialize with others. Lacking sleep for a long time can increase the risk of chronic health issues like heart complications and diabetes.

The short-term problem may include:

  • Quality of life. This is where we may become less likely to participate in normal daily routines or exercises.
  • More accident occurrences. Drowsy driving leads to a lot of crashes, injuries, and deaths each year.
  • Extreme daytime tiredness. It can make us very sleepy and exhausted during the day.  

Sleep should be a priority in our lives.
