Teachers play a vital role in teenage religious development. They provide students with fundamental knowledge and context on the numerous forms of religions that exist around the world, as well as a deeper dive into faith so that they can make an informed decision about their religious affiliation. In their quest for self-identity, adolescents can use this data to accept, deny, or allow a set of religious ideas to percolate. Teachers also instill in their students' religious principles and behaviors such as kindness, honesty, and compassion. These ideals are necessary for the world to be free of bigotry, hatred, and prejudice. Teachers assist young individuals in better understanding other people and cultures through teaching religion and so playing a role in their religious growth. For adolescents to grasp much of what has happened in history, politics, literature, and individual relations they must find links, correlations, interconnections, and causation in the context of religion. Adolescents who study religion can witness the long-term effects of beliefs that developed from faiths and world views in the past and now pervade today's society.
