Answer to Question #195206 in Psychology for Nena

Question #195206

What do you think of the parameter of "violation of socially accepted standards" and how does this reflect cultural factors/values?

What is an example of a behavior that is considered normal in this country but completely abnormal in another country? What about the opposite (normal in another country but completely "strange" in this country)?

Describe someone whom you would characterize as "abnormal". What are they like? What sort of traits, characteristics and/or behaviors do they have? Why do you feel that these traits are "abnormal"? (Think about the culture of your own mindset and what YOU consider to be normal behavior). What would need to change within these traits for you to consider this person to be "normal"?

1. Violation of social accepted standards is wrong. Since in a cultural value perspective, social accepted standards help to promote values like responsibility, honesty and hard work.

2. In the U.S, same sex marriage is considered normal, however in most african states, like Kenya it is not. Moreover, polygamy is seen to be normal in Kenya but in the U.S it is not.

3. A psychopath is one abnormal person. They have traits of harm and can even kill without hesitation. They should embrace humanity so as to live in unison with the rest of the community.
