i. Data: raw material that consists of dry facts, numbers, names, dates, sequences, and so on. For instance, the word count, number of spaces and pages in a document is data.
Information: structurized and analyzed data. Information shows the connections between the aspects that data represents. The data about the number of spaces, word count, and number of pages lets us understand how long the words are and how much material a document contains.
ii. The time required to serve one visitor in KFC is data. The money that can be saved if the service is increased is information.
High stress (over 100 MPa) and change in length in supports of a bridge is data. The fact that this indicates that the bridge may lose its structural integrity is information.
