Central Hospital has recently acquired and installed five laptops and ultra-modern biometric devices (computer embedded systems). As an IT consultant, you have been invited to do the following to the hospital staff;
Â
a.    Identify and explain the machines’ input devices and output devices.
Â
b.   Explain how these machines work together to receive inputs, process these inputs, generate output, and store the output onto output devices.
a. Input devices are devices used to interact with the biomaterial. For example, a blood analyzer can be connected to a laptop and make certain examination of blood material. This is the input device. The output devices are devices that transmit the information from the input devices to the laptop. For example, a special circuit board that convers the products of chemical reactions to digital signals that laptops can analyze.
b. First, such machines must be connected to the laptops and turned on. Then we need to run the software that interprets the biometric data and inject a biomaterial into the input devices. Next, we need to analyze the materials and save the results using the software. The way the data is stored on computers depends on the specific software, but such operations involve using RAM and ROM such as hard drives.
