Explain why PCI performs better than EISA and VL-Bus
The Peripheral Component Interconnect bus was originally designed by Intel to be a stronger, more flexible compared to current expansion buses while maintaining backward compatibility. It is independent of the CPU, thus better than the VL bus and is not limited to use in 486-based computers.
The PCI bus is much more versatile than the VLB bus as it allows up to 10 devices to connect while a VLB bus allows only a small number i.e. 4 to connect.A PCI has its own adapter that allows it to be configured to work with any MP from 80486 to modern Pentium while a VLB bus is not adapted to pentium class processors.
