Question 1
A. Jacobson has been given a project to design relational database for a company. He intends to start with logical design instead of conceptual design. What problems are likely to arise if the logical design of the relational database is created?
B. Suggest appropriate strategy one can use to address the problems that would arise as a result of starting the database design from logical design. Explain the process to get the issues resolved to satisfy certain constraints.
Question 2
A. Using the right integrity rules, explain why it is important to control how
data is deleted from relational database.
B. In your own words, explain why one cannot consider every table as a
relation. [10 Marks] C. All relations are in 1st Normal form. Explain.
Solution 1.
A. If he will start to work on the logical design before the working of the conceptual design then all the requirement may not full filled, or if it is full filled then also there may be difficulty to manage the database and there is large possibility that the efficiency of the database may not up-to the mark or may be it is not optimum solution.
B. It may slow, because it is directly implemented without the checking the complexity and optimal performance of the database. It can be resolve by checking the relation among the database. And need to normalize the data then we can save space as well as the performance of the database.
Solution 2.
A. In the relational database, the data are are interlinked with each other if we delete one record from the database then there is a chance to delete from the multiple tables, due to which it halt the data accessing.
B. A relational table is a table which contained the relation on the link between the different database. So the table which contained the link are considered as the relational table.
