The SDLC is an acronym for System Development Life Cycle. The SDLC is used to create or gives a frame work for both technical and technical activities to give out a good and quality systems that meets a business expectation. The SDLC comprises of seven different phase they include; the planning, system analysis & requirements, system design, development, integration & testing, implementation and operation and maintenance.

To start with the planning phase, is the first phase and the main activity of this phase is to determine the scope of the problem and to get the solution. In planning phase, the following items are also considered time, cost, resources and the benefits.

The second phase is the system analysis and requirements; this phase the teams consider functionality of the requirements of a solution or the project. The system analysis and requirements is also where the analysis of the system or the analysis of end user needs are, to ensure that the new system met the end user expectations.

System design is the third phase of the SDLC, describes in deep the required specification, functionality, and features, that will have met the working requirements of the proposed system. The fourth phase of the system development life cycle is the development, in this phase the is where the real work of the starts. The development phase shows the end of the first section of the process. The other activities carried out in the development phase include, installation and change, this phase signifies the beginning of the production.

The firth phase of the SDLC is the integration and testing, this phase is normally conducted by a Quality Assurance professionals. The main activity that takes place is the integration of the system and system testing. This is where the initial set of business goals are determined if the proposed system met them.

The sixth phase is the implementation, in this phase is where the program codes are written. Last but not the least is the seventh phase, the operation and maintenance. The last phase is where the end user such as company, organization can fine tune the system, if they wish to update new capabilities, boost performance or test additional user requirements.
