Describe home security systems and point of sales system making up the embedded system
Embedded point of sale system is an embedded model designed to execute specific tasks of running a business’s point of sale. With this model, the software meant for business’s point of sale is developed for the hardware it runs on. Therefore, instead of acquiring hardware and software separately, embedded point of sale systems come in a one preinstalled package. As the software has a customized design to the hardware, business owners find this system more spontaneous and easier for employee to learn and use. This system reduces the time to go live as it offers a model known as “plug and play” which does not require downloading and installing software first.
Embedded home security system is a group of electronic components designed using smart sensors that work together to detect intruders therefore protecting a home. The system uses ultrasonic sensor to detect motion and pyroelectric infrared sensor to detect temperature changes. Because all components are connected to a base station, they have are connected to a mobile application that allows individuals to monitor everything remotely. Hence when the system detects the presence of any unauthorized individual, it triggers a buzzer which sends a signal to embedded system. Subsequently, a notification is sent to the owner who can livestream the footage or communicate with whoever is standing in front of the camera.
