Explain what Affordance and Visibility is, in user interface design and provide real life examples. (6)
Affordances are properties of an object that give the user a cue as to what it is for, how it is operated and what state it is in. For example, a Windows button looks three-dimensional to make the user understand that it should be clicked. An example of good visibility is the drop down menus of Microsoft Word that only shows the menu selections that have been recently used.
