System admins generally maintain systems servers, I’d start by doing the most basic things, like setting up a company antivirus plan, a secure OS, DDoS protection, enable firewall and antivirus protection, document security rules, then set up things like passive and active security software things like Tripwire, and probably also local firewall rules as well as maintaining, archiving, and scanning logs as well limiting access to sensitive data. Not everyone in a company needs access to sensitive client data. Things like smart password protection strategies. should be in place as well as stay on top of all security updates.
