Question #153190

Distinguish between synchronous and asynchronous transmissions

Expert's answer

In synchronous transmission, data is sent between the sender and the receiver in a timed manner. That is, the sender and the receiver have synchronized time intervals in which the sender has to send and receiver has to expect data at the same time. On the other hand, in asynchronous transmission, there is no timing and therefore, data is sent randomly without the receiver and sender synchronization.
