Once the machinery or its hazardous functions have stopped, the energy supply to the actuators concerned must be cut off, aims to prevent the risk of unintended starting following a stop command that might be caused by a fault or failure in the control system. This means that stopping can either be achieved by immediate removal of power to the machine actuators, or with power available to the machine actuators to achieve the stop and then removal of power once the stop has been achieved.
