Two massless strings connect a sphere of mass 9.76kg to a vertical pole where d=1.17m and l=2.33m.The spheres revolves in a horizontal circle at a constant speed of 9.33 m/s (without the wires wrapping around the pole). Determine the magnitudes of the tension in each string.

A 1.95m long wire having a mass of 0.100kg is at both ends. The tension in the wire is maintained at 21.0N.

an object 0.4 m from a lens gives a virtual image 0.1 m from the lens what is the focal length of this lens what kind of lens is this

A ray of light travels from air into a liquid at an angle of incidence of 30°. If it is deviated by 10, what is the speed of light in the liquid?

(Note: n of liquid is greater than n of air)

How much work does the piston in a hydraulic system do during one 2.0-cm stroke if the end area of the piston is 0.75 cm2 and the pressure in the hydraulic fluid is 50 kPa?

The speed of glycerin flowing in a 5.0 cm i.d. pipe is 0.54 m/s. Find the fluid‘s speed in a 3.0 cm i.d. pipe that connects with it, both pipes flowing full. Ans. 1.5 m/s

1.57 What is the maximum distance from which a sailor on top of the mast of ship 1, at 34 m above the ocean’s surface, can see another sailor on top of the mast of ship 2, at 26 m above the ocean’s surface?

This problem is too hard.

In the student's manual solutions there is 39km as an answer for this problem.

Please EXPLAIN to me why is the distance 39km.

I think the distance is close to 29km.

and

I got a different answer that the distance is 10km

Please provide me the answer.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
