Diffraction grating is a grating with very high number of slits per a centimeter of length.

Phenomenа called diffraction and interference are studied with the diffraction grating.

When we shile light on the grating with period d, measure the distance to the screen, the distance from a nth maxima to the central maxima, we can find the angle theta, which allows calculating the wavelength:

"\\lambda=d\\sin\\theta."
