Answer to Question #262845 in Physics for HAMBA IVAN

Question #262845
  1. A sound wave in air of pressure level 10dB strikes, with normal incidence, a

boundary between air and a second medium for which ρc= 840kgm-2s-1.

Find,

(a) the rms pressure in the reflected wave

(b) the rms pressure in the reflected wave

(c) the phase relationship at the boundary between these two instantaneous pressures and the instantaneous pressure in the incident wave.

2. A pulsing sphere has a radius of 1.00mm and is pulsing in air at a frequency of

100Hz. The maximum radial velocity of its surface is 0.10cms0-1.

(a) Find the value of the velocity potential ,Φ, as a function of r.

(b) At a position r=30m, find

(i) the maximum value ofΦ.

(ii)the maximum value of ξ &

(iii) the maximum value of p.
