By defintion, a physical pendulum consists of a rigid body that undergoes fixed axis rotation about a fixed point S (see https://www.lehman.edu/faculty/anchordoqui/chapter24.pdf).




So, basically any body that is:

  1. rigid enough in the context of the particular problem
  2. suspended by some pivot inside it

can serve as the example of a physical pendulum.

Including cahndelier, lantern, pendulum of a pendulum clock, etc.
