By using
vn2−un1=Rn2−n1,
where n1=34 (water), n2=1 (air), u=−6cm.
So,
vn2−un1=Rn2−n1→v1−−634=−101−34→v1=−101−34−184=−5.2cm
Answer. v=5.2cm to the left of the point E.
