Converging lens are the lenses which focuses all light rays at a single point on the optical axis on the opposite side of the lens, whereas the diverging lens diverges the light rays. The focal length is positive for the converging lens and negative for the diverging lens. Also, the converging lens can produce either real or virtual images of the object, whereas the diverging lens always produce the virtual image of the object.
