Michelson Morley Experiment: It is the experiment to find the presence and property of the substance that is called aether. It is a substance that believed to fill the empty space.

This experiment was created to prove the theory that aether existed.

There is sensitive device that compress the optical path for the light that moving perpendicularly.

It is reasoned that, the speed of light is constant with respect to prostrated aether.

It was reasoned that, if the speed of light were constant with respect to the proposed ether through which the Earth was moving, that motion could be detected by comparing the speed of light in the direction of the Earth’s motion and the speed of light at right angles to the Earth’s motion. No difference was found.

The result was negative, in that Michelson and Morley found no significant difference between the speed of light in the direction of movement through the presumed aether, and the speed at right angles.
