a) Assuming the surface of the table as frictionless
i) determine the acceleration of the system.
ii) find the tension in the string.
iii) find the interaction forces between M1 & M2.
b) Assuming the surface of the table to posses friction of uniform kinetic and
static coefficients µk and µs respectively,
i) if the system accelerates, determine the acceleration of the system, T
and the interaction forces between M1 & M2 in terms of M1, M2, M, g and µk.
ii) if the system remains static, derive the expressions for µs, T and the
interaction forces between M1 & M2 in terms of M1, M2, M and g.
