The external and internal diameters of the impeller of a centrifugal pump are 600 mm and 300

mm respectively. The inlet and outlet vane angles are 30° and 40° respectively. The pump

delivers 150 litres/s of water. If water enters at a velocity of 2 m/s radically, find the speed of

impeller and work done by the impeller. Assume velocity of flow remains constant throughout

the impeller.
