Why do you tend to leam backward when carrying a heavy load in your arms?

When we lift something on our arms then due to weight of load, it has a torque which try to make lean us forward. So we try to lean backward such that centre of mass of body has torque equal and opposite to that of load. Now total torque on system (body + load) is zero and we don't feel any torque.
