Electrolytic capacitors are a kind of capacitors in which the dielectric between the plates is a metal oxide film, where the anode is made of metal and the cathode is a solid, liquid or gel electrolyte. The oxide layer on the surface of the anode is obtained by the method of electrochemical anodizing, which ensures high uniformity in thickness and dielectric properties of the capacitor dielectric.
The most common radial aluminum electrolytic capacitors. In axial capacitors, the wire leads are located on the sides of the cylindrical body, in contrast to the radial capacitors, the conclusions of which are located on one side of the cylindrical body.
