We can use electromagnetic and chemical sources for generating electricity in lab. The first one we can use electromagnetic generator(coil and magnet), this way based on Faraday's law, if we change magnetic flux thru coil we have electricity. The second one, we can use some chemical reactions. For example put two metal plates(copper and zinc) into acid.
