IS it necessary that the charged conducting cylinder should be infinitely long ( about application of Gauss' theorem)

There are only several rules for Gauss' theorem: 1) Body has symmetry (spherical, for example) 2) Charge distributed homogeneously 3) Closed area (for integral) We don't need infinitely long body. (but also can use this theorem for infinitely long body too)
