Draw the circuit representing a practical transmission line in terms of lumped components. What are the values of R and G in case of ideal transmission line? Why?

The circuit can be drawn like either on the left or on the right below:



The values of G in case of ideal transmission line is infinity because only reactive currents can flow between the ground and the line. The value of R for ideal line is zero because this would mean zero active power loss (a lossless line).
