In public relations, it is essential to have an open system in which the boundaries between subsystems, supra-systems, and environments are permeable and responsive to feedback. This way, the public relations people will help their organizations proactively adjust and adapt to ever-changing environments in order to make strategic plans to maintain relationships and, ultimately, to survive.
