Question #137611

If three rectangular holes of 1.5m x 0.3m x 200mm are placed on the wall,

a.) How many cubic meters of concrete needed to build the wall?

b.) What is the total volume of the rectangular solid holes?

Expert's answer

Concrete needed = Volume of hole x 3

Volume = 1.5 x 0.3 x (200/1000)

Volume = 1.5 x 0.3 x 0.2 = 0.09m3

Concrete needed = 0.09 x 3 = 0.27 m3

Total volume of rectangular solid holes is

= 1.5 x 0.3 x (200/1000) x 3 = 0.27 m3
