Pipe A fills a 50-liter tank at a rate of 15 liters per hour. Pipe B fills the same tank at a rate of 10 liters per hour. Pipe A runs alone for 100 minutes then the two of them together finish filling up the tank. How long does the whole operation take?

A rate in min= 15/60=0.25L/Min;

the amount filled in 100 Min = 0.25L/Min*100Min=25L;

the amount remained =50L-25L= 25L; 

the rest time for Pipe A +Pipe B=25L / ((15+10) L/hour) = 1hour;

the whole operation will take 100 min +60 min = 160Min.
