2. Cut out the strip and place it on the fraction strips (see appeadix 2.5 (not 3.5)

3. Check to see which unity fractions the strip of the sum of 1/2 and 1/3 fits perfectly.

4. If it fits perfectly with more than one of the unit fractions, which ones are those and why does it fit perfectly with them?

The sum fits in $\frac{5}{6}$ which is same as $\frac{1}{6}$ Five times. It fits perfectly because it can't make a whole.
