Use your bicycle to go to the market near your home. Come back to your home by using a different path. Measure and note down the time in seconds and distance in meters, from home to market, and from market to home. Calculate your speed for approach and return. (Note: Take an approximate value of distance, if exact measurement is not possible)
The path from home to market is approximate 900 meters and the time is 3 minutes, that is 180 seconds. Therefore, my speed for approach is "v_1=\\frac{900\\ m}{180\\ s}=5\\ m\/s."
The different path from market to home is approximate 850 meters and the time is 175 seconds. Consequently, my speed for return is "v_2=\\frac{850\\ m}{175\\ s}\\approx 4.86\\ m\/s."
